{"id":1296,"date":"2017-12-12T12:23:29","date_gmt":"2017-12-12T01:23:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oman.org.au\/?p=1296"},"modified":"2017-12-22T15:02:26","modified_gmt":"2017-12-22T04:02:26","slug":"47th-oman-national-day-celebrated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oman.org.au\/en\/47th-oman-national-day-celebrated\/","title":{"rendered":"47th Oman National Day celebrated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 47<sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">th<\/span><\/sup> National Day of the Sultanate of Oman was celebrated on Wednesday 22nd of November 2017 at lunchtime\u00a0at the\u00a0Grand Hyatt Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>Over 300\u00a0diplomats, government officials, business and education and community representatives turned out to celebrate the milestone of the 47<sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">th<\/span><\/sup> National Day. Upon arrival guests were greeted into the Ballroom by their host His Excellency the Consul-General, Dr Hamed Al-Alawi.<\/p>\n<p>Guests were able to enjoy traditional Omani Food. Many enjoyed being served the sweets by Omani\u2019s dressed in their traditional outfits whilst viewing\u00a05 framed beautiful photos that depicted the history, modern day and future of Oman. The Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra played in the background and guests also had the opportunity to view new documentaries on Oman on the large screens.<\/p>\n<p>The Consul General addressed the audience focusing on theme which was education. He also\u00a0announced that his post\u00a0is coming to an end and\u00a0he spoke\u00a0fondly\u00a0of his time in Australia.
