The National Multicultural Festival – Food and Dance Spectacular took place on Saturday 9th February 2008 in Canberra and approximately 70,000 people attended the event. The theme of the Festival was 'Arabian Nights' and 190 stalls were positioned throughout Canberra City.

The Consulate and a few Omani students who were studying in Canberra assisted with running and organising the Omani tent which served traditional Omani sweets and coffee. The tent also gave the public an opportunity to learn more about Oman with the many displays and brochures that were available.  

Many people travelled from all over Australia to attend the Festival. The day was a great success.
