Exhibition on higher education opens - The Higher Education Institutions Exhibition was opened at Oman International Exhibition Centre (OIEC) yesterday under the auspices of Sayyid Salim bin Musallam al Busaidy, Civil Service Ministry's Under-Secretary for Administrative Development Affairs, in the presence of Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Sarmi, Higher Education Ministry's Under-Secretary, officials and heads of colleges.
Dr Al Sarmi said that the exhibition will help in the development of the education sector in the Sultanate.
He also pointed out that a committee was formed recently to study increasing monthly bonus allocated to students of higher education colleges affiliated to the ministry in co-ordination with the Council of Ministers' Secretariat.
The chief guest was briefed by those in charge of the pavilions on admission procedures, nature of education, scientific disciplines and courses.
Six governmental higher education institutions and 19 private higher education institutions are taking part in the exhibition supported by 18 private establishments.
