Business Women Forum committee meets - Business Women Forum Committee today held a meeting at Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI)’s HQs’ under the chair of Natasha bint Yahya bin Mohammed Nasseb, member of the Board of Directors and Head of the Committee.
The meeting approved the new name for Businesswomen Forum, namely “Business Women Forum Committee” to be added to the group of committees in OCCI, besides, approving the action plan of the committee for the forthcoming period. The meeting also discussed a number of topics, such as, organizing an extended seminar for businesswomen forums committees in the governorates and regions of the Sultanate to coordinate the work among these committees for the next period. The meeting also studied the proposal of holding joint seminars between businesswomen and representatives of the governmental and private sectors to expand cooperation between the parties involved in the trade and investment process for development. During the meeting, the committee stressed the role of businesswomen in developing the society and contributing in finding job opportunities for both sexes to enhance the economic development witnessed by the Sultanate in various fields. The meeting also touched on inviting businesswomen to take part in Expo Chinghai Exhibition 2010, due to be held in the forthcoming October to enhance the trade cooperation between the Omani businesswomen and their Chinese counterparts. OLNG finance OWA SOHAR: OLNG yesterday signed three agreements worth of RO.26,000with the Omani Woman Associations (OWAs) in the wilayats of Sohar , Al Khabourah and Liwa . The agreements were signed by Sheikh Ali bin Nasser al Hashar, Director of Commercial Affairs for the company and chairpersons of the three OWAs. The agreements aim at financing the purchase of some needs by the OWAs in addition to promoting the social services, economic projects and supporting the charitable organizations that aim at promoting the Omani man. OLNG allocated RO.10,000 to finance a number of projects for the Omani Woman Association in the wilayat of Sohar, RO.10,000 for the Omani Women Association in the wilayat of Liwa and RO.6,000 for the Omani Woman Association in Khabourah. In a statement, Sheikh al Hashar said that the Omani Woman Associations in the different parts of the Sultanate play an important role in promoting women and serving the community. He pointed out that the OLNG supports the associations at the different parts of the Sultanate as pre-set studied plan and programme for all the regions.- ONA |
