HM presides over Council of Ministers’ meeting - His Majesty Sultan Qaboos yesterday presided over the Council of Ministers’ meeting at Bait al Baraka.

 His Majesty Sultan Qaboos yesterday presided over the Council of Ministers’ meeting at Bait al Baraka. His Majesty the Sultan began the meeting by thanking Almighty Allah for the numerous bounties and appealed to the Almighty to make this year a year of welfare and blessings over Oman and all countries in the world.

His Majesty the Sultan then reviewed local, regional and international situations. On the local level, His Majesty the Sultan expressed complete satisfaction over the efforts undertaken to promote the Omani economy and enhance its positive role in the development projects in all parts of the Sultanate. His Majesty the Sultan praised the good preparation of the State Budget 2010 and affirmed that the serious and sincere work will continue with the same pace which aims at achieving the prospective hopes and aspirations of this country and its dear citizens.

In this regard, His Majesty the Sultan directed that most attention should focus on the Omani citizen and promotion of his abilities by harnessing for his benefit what modern age offers. His Majesty said that shoud be done in the manner that will prepare the Omani citizen to deal with positive contents and interact systematically with the world in a way that ensures reaching the set targets. His Majesty said this has been the norm for Oman and its citizens throughout the course of history.

Within the framework of His Majesty the Sultan’s review of the regional and international situations, His Majesty the Sultan underlined Oman’s policy regarding its relations with other countries of the world. These are built on trust and credibility in dealing with others, adopting neutrality that leads to solving issues with wisdom and vision, and serves the constructive co-operation among countries.

His Majesty the Sultan hoped that all countries of the region will witness more security and stability that enables them to continue the developmental efforts to serve the welfare and prosperity of their peoples. His Majesty the Sultan also touched on a number of issues of interest for the country and citizens and directed the Council of Ministers to take whatever action deemed appropriate to attain the prospective national goals. His Majesty wished continuous welfare and prosperity for Oman and its faithful people
